04 May I always fall asleep!
Here are a couple of tips if you always find yourself falling asleep when trying to meditate
1/ Keep good upright alert posture. It’s when we slump in our seated position that it’s more likely for us to fall asleep.
2/ Are you getting enough sleep? Consider sleeping a bit more if you need to.
3/ Are trying to meditate after a big meal? Try to meditate on an empty stomach.
4/ Do some form of physical exercise before sitting.
5/ Try meditating at a different time of day and see if that helps.
6/ If you can, try altering the temperature of the room.
7/ Try meditating after a cold shower!
8/ If all else fails you can do as is taught in the Zen tradition and sit on the edge of a high cliff or a deep well that will make sure you don’t fall asleep while trying to meditate!
