As many of you know, I’ve been setting up a non-profit company called Heston Wellness Centre (HWC) with the short term goal of providing free classes to the elderly and vulnerable in Heston.
I’m a carer to two elderly parents. My parents are very fortunate to have people caring for them. Other old people are much less fortunate and I want to do something to help them too.
If any of you want to join in, please let me know. I’ll do my best to find you a role you’ll enjoy and find fulfilling. Any help you give will be greatly appreciated! A big thanks to all of you who are already helping. I’m very grateful for all your support and looking forward to working with you all in the “New Year”.
Thanks to all my amazing students we raised an incredible £1734 through donations and raffle tickets sold during our “Passage to India” get together.

WHAT’S HAPPENED SINCE THEN
—
I wanted to update you all on what’s going on now.
We’ve been in the process of setting up a bank account for the non-profit. It’s been going on for months now but seems like it’s finally coming to an end.
To set up the account we were required to supply the following:
1. A meeting record
2. A letter on headed notepaper authorising the bank to open an account for us
3. Company Constitution
4. Funding sources
5. Aims & Objectives of HWC
This has all been done, but the bank has wanted to check our ID’s and run background checks for a second time which has delayed things.

NEXT STEPS
—
Our next steps involve making people in Heston aware that free classes will be available to the elderly soon.
We’ll also be working on building a website, logo & social media presence.
I’m still considering the venue. It will probably be the Heston Community Centre, but it’s not certain yet. If any of you can think of a better venue please let me know.
To bring awareness to the free classes, my plan is to contact the following asap:
1. Local charities for the elderly
2. Local care homes for the elderly
3. Local authorities
4. Local media
5. Use word of mouth via my students and contacts.
6. A banner outside the venue.
7. Contact the NHS

PLEASE HELP GET THE WORD OUT
—
If you know anyone old and vulnerable who could benefit from both the physical and social benefits of free classes of low impact exercise such as chair yoga, tai chi, gentle dance & movement, please let me know.
I promise I’ll do everything I can to make them healthier and happier.
